Cold but not to cold!
Report Date: December 13, 2004
Well it?s starting to feel a little more like December. I think over the next couple of weeks we are going to see a lot of changes. I know at the beginning of the week the water temp was at 71 degrees and when I was on the
water last it had dropped to 65. This is a big change hopefully it will start to level out but if not we will just have to do a little different fishing.
At the beginning of last week the weather was great and the fishing was good. We started off with the Snook fishing. Each morning we fished it was little slow for the first half hour but as the morning went on the fish turned on and we caught a number of Snook. With the tide we were fishing in a little different areas. We caught a lot of
nice fish last week The Snook of the week was a 29 inch Snook.
Then we have the Trout. We have not been doing a whole lot of fishing for them since they have been out of season but we have been catching a few while fishing for Snook or Red fish. I can say that I don?t remember the last time that I have seen so many Trout in the bay.
Red fish are still biting. We have been counting more on the tides. Last
week the lower tide was better and the bite was good. We caught a number of fish each trip. Most of the fish we caught were slot limit fish 18- 25 inches. The Red fish of the week was a 25 inch fish.
Well over the next couple of weeks, if the weather will let us we will probably try to do some near shore fishing for Grouper and Snapper. To see more come visit www.castawaychartersinc.com.
