Tampa Bay Fishing Charter Info
When
you come aboard the 24 foot Skeeter Boat - complete with an 8 foot tower - you better
be ready to have a good time. Be prepared to have sore wrists from all the fish
you will catch. This is the ideal boat for the area. It handles the choppy water
but still allows you to get on the shallow flats.
All of our backwater fishing is light tackle we will be using an 8 ft spinning
rod with a Daiwa spinning reel for the Snook, Redfish, Trout, cobia, etc.
to get the best fight possible. For Tarpon and Shark backwater fishing we will
be using a little heavier 8 ft Crowder rod with 6500-bait runner spinning reel.
This accommodates the fish well because it is heavy enough to catch these huge
fish but still gives you one heck of a fight. The tackle is all provided as well
as all the bait. I also have a 30ft Dorado for some of the bigger parties and
nearshore or offshore fishing adventures. For this type of fishing we use an open
face bait runner on a 7 ft Crowder rod.

What to Bring
What to bring? A hat (highly recommended due to the intensity of our Florida
sunshine), a lot of Sunscreen (the higher the SPF the better), Polarized Sunglasses
(polarized lenses are the only way you will be able to see the incredible sea-life
we encounter), Food and Drink (twice as much Gatorade as you think you will need
is perfect for extended battles with Tarpon).
Location
Depending on your location we will either leave from Regatta Point Marina in
Palmetto, 59th Street in Bradenton, or a boat ramp on the Island. What ever is
most convenient for you.
