Is it really December?

Report Date: December 6, 2004

Well! well! well! I don?t know what to say other than I hope it stays like this. I forget is it December? I can?t believe how warm it is and how good the fishing is. It is all about the weather, if it stays the same the fishing will stay good, but if it does end up getting colder we will just have to move it either up river further or out a little deeper off shore to the Grouper fishing.

To get back to the fishing I will start with the Red fish. We only got to fish

a few days this past week it was a little rough a couple of the days but we did manage to catch a number of Red fish. Most of the tides that we fished this week were low so most of the fish that we caught were off the edge of the flats. We did catch some really nice fish. Most of the fish that we caught were in the slot limit size 18-25 inches. The Red fish of the week was a 26 inch Red fish that the young man did a great job catching.

Then we have the Trout. I don?t know the last time I

have seen so many Trout in the bay. We caught a lot of Trout this past week. Most of the fish that we caught were when we were fishing for the Snook or Red fish. We also caught a lot of Flounder all mixed in the same areas. Back to the Trout we did catch a lot of very nice Trout this past week. We have one story about one great Trout. Well it starts with a great bite. We were catching Snook and Red fish just about every other throw with Trout mixed in when the young women in the picture caught this great Trout that I thought was about 26 inches. We did manage to get a good picture of the fish but the fish were in a feed

ing frenzy and we didn?t have time to measure it. The young lady thought the fish was 28 inches so we will say that the fish was 27 inches. To say no more it was a great Trout.

Then we have the Snook fishing this was a great bite. Most of the week we had great fishing. A few days it was very windy

and a little cold but we had luck catching a number of Snook. Some of the colder mornings that we fished we had to work and find warmer water that the Snook would bite better in. For the most part all week we did not have trouble catching over 25 Snook. The Snook of the week was a 27 inch fish. To see more come visit www.castawaychartersinc.com.
