Two for one!
Report Date: September 6, 2004
Well I don?t know about you, but I am ready for this tropical season to be over. It is definitely a bad season for storms. We
did managed to get some fishing in at the beginning of the week..There were some good tides in the morning this week..It was the weekend that the weather would not cooperate.
We did manage to get one day of Tarpon fishing in. We had a real hard time getting bait and when we did find bait it was real big. We then ran to our fishing hole and got into position and watched Tarpon rolling everywhere. We managed to hook 2 Tarpon and boat 1. This fish put up a great fight and
jumped over 5 times it weighed about 50 lbs. If we would have been able to start earlier in the morning we would have had more luck. Hopefully, we will have a chance to get out early in the morning this week and do some more Tarpon fishing .I will let you know how it goes.
Even though Snook season is open, we did not get a chance to do a whole lot last week. Most of the Snook that we did catch was being pushed away by the Red fish. The Snook could not get to the bait quick enough. We did manage to catch a few Snook each trip, but
the big ones got away.
The Red fish bite is really on. We had 3-4 days where we caught over 30 Red fish. Most of the fish ranged 18-25 inches. We did
have a few outstanding fish that were over 30 inches. The Red fish of the week was a 32 inch fish. We got these fish in a frenzy as you can see in the picture. It was 2 for 1.
