Fall Fishing Is Coming Tampa Bay!
Report Date: October 2, 2016
Fall has arrived in Tampa Bay, but it certainly doesn’t feel like it. Some mornings have indeed been a bit cooler, but by the afternoon, it is right back up to the high 90’s. Despite the hot temperatures, fishing has been good lately.
When fishing the flats, you either have to do so early in the morning or make sure you are paying attention to the tides to determine the location of the fish on the flats. When the tide is high, the fish tend to be up around the mangroves, and when it is low, they tend to migrate out to the edge of the bars. The water temperature is still really warm so you need to watch your bait while fishing the flats. When the water temperature is high, there is less oxygen in the water. Bait will die quickly without enough oxygen.
If early morning flats fishing is not your cup of tea, start with tarpon and snapper. The bite has been very good. As it cools down a bit, fishing is going to get really good. Please visit www.castawaychartersinc.com and book your trip today.
