Tampa Bay Backwater Action!
Report Date: January 14, 2014
It’s almost time to hang up the mullet nets and get back to rod and reel fishing. Lately, the weather in Tampa Bay has been bipolar. It is 80 degrees one day and 40 degrees the next. Because of the inconsistency in the weather, it might be a bit of a challenge to get the fish to bite.
The water temperature is where it needs to be to catch fish on live bait, but finding the live bait is not going to be easy.
This time of year we also start catching snook, redfish, and trout on jigs. It is a little too warm to do very good on shrimp.
The pinfish will eat the shrimp off your hook before the fish have a chance to eat it. Please visit www.castawaychartersinc.com and book your trip today.
