Fall Fishing In Tampa Bay Is In Full Effect!

Report Date: October 27, 2013

Tampa Bay fishing has been great despite the hot, summer -like weather. With the first real cold front of the season heading our way, the hot temperatures are soon going to dissipate. The front will most likely move the fish around, but not turn the bite off.

Fish and bait are aplenty in Tampa Bay, which has made fishing almost too easy. You can fill your live well full of great bait at almost any area flat or bridge. Just make sure to get a good look at the bait before you throw your net. Make sure the bait is not going to get stuck in every hole of your net. Trust me; it is not fun to have to shake all the baits out of the net. The bait also doesn’t live well after that. Lately, the fish haven’t been very far from where the bait is. It all depends on the tide.

If it’s a lower tide, it’s better to fish out off the edges. If the water is high, fishing the shoreline is where it’s at.

If you want a slam, fish the flats. Fishing should stay this good until the water temperature drops below 70 degrees. Once it gets below 70 degrees, it’s going to take a little more work.

Fishing off the beach has also been good. We’ve been catching sharks, kingfish, and tarpon. Please visit www.castawaychartersinc.com and book your trip today!
