Tampa bay fishing / catching!
Report Date: August 19, 2012
Fishing in Tampa Bay has been excellent lately. With all the small bait around the area, the fish have been biting really well. Even though the mid day bite is usually the toughest, we have even been able to get it going lately. The fish just love the small bait.
The tarpon bite has even been good mid day, and usually, tarpon don’t like to bite at that time of day.
The tarpon we’ve landed have been anywhere from 20lbs to 175lbs. Each time we hook a fish, we really don’t know for sure how big is going to be until it jumps. The tarpon should be in the Tampa Bay area until October. While waiting for the great silver king to bite, we’ve been catching grouper, snapper, mackerel, sharks, cobia, and redfish.
The Bay bite has been great too. We have been catching snook, redfish, and trout all in the same area. If you stay in one place for 30 minutes or more, you will easily catch a slam. Please visit www.castawaycharters.com and book your trip today!
