Tampa Bay spring time fishing bring it on!

Report Date: March 2, 2011

Fishing

has been phenomenal! It has been off the charts… good… really good. A couple of cold fronts did sweep through Tampa Bay and slowed fishing down for a couple of days, but we still caught fish. We just had to work a little harder to catch them.
Take your pick… redfish, trout, flounder, snook, bluefish, mackerel, etc… We have been catching all of them. The warm water temperature has really made the fish hungry, and hopefully, it will remain warm over the next few weeks.

The warm weather and water temperature makes it feel as if the spring season has started early this year. The huge drum are back, and tarpon showed up with them. We jumped our first tarpon of the season last week.

We had this great fish on long enough to get a few great jumps before he managed to shake the hook and get off. We landed 8 drum to 12 drum that each weighed between 40 lbs to 60 lbs on our first drum trip. The weather and the fish are both heating up so book your trip today at www.castawaychartersinc.com. />
