Tampa Bay Spring time fishing is on its way!
Report Date: February 18, 2011
The weather is getting warmer and the days are getting longer. Spring is on its way to Tampa Bay and the fish love it.
Many fish are appearing in the areas they normally are during the spring. Although the fish are moving to the right areas, we just need a few
other factors to come into play and we will be well on our way to great spring fishing. First, the water temperature needs to increase about 5 degrees to10 degrees. Second, live bait needs to show up. The water temperature has already been in the 70’s a few times the past few weeks. I even got on the water earlier than I normally do in hopes of finding live bait. I didn’t have much luck, but the conditions are starting to be where they need to be for live bait. Any day now, the bait will be back in the Bay and we will be catching many fish with it.
Warm water
temperatures and live bait mean tarpon are back in Tampa Bay. I think we are going to have a great early tarpon season. Tarpon are usually around in March if we have normal spring temperatures. Please visit www.castawaychartersinc.com and book your trip today!
