Tampa Bay fishing the changes!
Report Date: January 11, 2011
The water temperature in the Tampa Bay area is on the rise. The water temperature did get quite low over the past few weeks, but not low enough to make the fish stop biting. Fish are still biting and biting well.
It got cold
really quick this winter. In fact, it got so cold so quickly that we have been fishing in areas that we usually don’t touch until the end of the winter season. We are continuing to catch great redfish, drum, and sheapshead with shrimp.
Trout season is open again.
With that being said, we are going to start fishing with jigs. Occasionally, when the water is a bit warmer, the redfish have actually preferred jigs over shrimp. Please visit www.castawaychartersinc.com and book your trip today.
