Tampa Bay Fall time fishing!
Report Date: October 30, 2010
It’s that time of year when the weather is somewhat unpredictable. Each day brings something different. Some days are a little windy and others are calm and beautiful. Many cold fronts usually come through the area this time of year, which changes the fishes feeding patterns. When one spends as much time on the water as I do, you see these things happing and know what to do to catch fish.
Tarpon are still around.
I haven’t had as many people that have wanted to go tarpon fishing lately until last week. I fished two different trips for tarpon, and we had luck with both. The bite seemed a bit slower than previous weeks, but we didn’t spend as much time fishing for these great fish. During both trips we hooked a few fish, and got at least one to the boat.
The snook
fishing this past week has been really good! Snook season is closed this fall but they have still been a lot of fun to catch and release. We have caught a number of fish this past week in the 30 inch range when we have been targeting these great fish.
Redfish sure have made many rods bend lately. The fish are doing a lot of moving around. Every trip we’ve been on lately, we have managed to get on good redfish. Some days most of the fish are over size and other days the fish are all in the slot. Please visit www.castawaychartersinc.com and book your trip today!
