Crazy weather!

I don’t remember a November as warm as this past one, or a December like this neither. It’s still not very cold. Although the temperature did make it down to a cool 45 degrees once this winter, two days later it was back up to 80 degrees again. This weather has done some strange things to the fish, but being on the water everyday helps me keep track of it.

I haven’t been out on the water rod and reel fishing everyday.

Mostly, I’ve been Mullet fishing where I use a net to catch fish. Mullet fishing has been really good, as you can see in the picture. There were a few days where I couldn’t fit another fish on the boat.
I have been fishing with shrimp in the back water this week. With the water temperature at 60 degrees to 65 degrees, it’s a bit to cold to fish with live bait or Shiners. When the water temperature gets below 65 degrees we usually fish with shrimp or lures, and this fishing can be really good at times. The biggest trick to it is finding fish that want to bite. There is more then enough fish around, but at times, they are difficult to catch. There are a few tricks that I can’t quiet share with you on how to get them to bite when you almost throw your entire tackle box at them. You’ll

We’ve caught many different kinds of fish on shrimp lately. However, we were mostly targeting Red fish, Sheep’s Head, Snapper, and Flounder.
