The fishing is out of control and we’ve had great fun the past few weeks catching many fish. The list of fish we’ve been catching has grown a bit. We have started catching Tarpon, Grouper, and a few others. Not that we don’t usually catch these great fish but you can say the bite is on! The weather the past few weeks has been a little rough but it hasn’t slowed the bite down at all. With the cooler water temp the fishing has kicked off for the fall and is just going to keep getting better till it gets too cold. But that’s not going to happen for awhile.

Let's

start with the Red fishing of a life time. Every bait in the water has a fish on in just a few seconds. Drags screaming with the light tackle not knowing if you are going to be able to turn the next fish. Like I have said in the past it’s something that you would just have to come see for yourself. Which is possible just book a trip in the next few weeks and come see. Most of the Red fish that we have been catching in the big schools have been oversize fish and as you can see in the pictures some way oversize. During the past week we have been catching fish in the upper 30 inch range and some almost 40 inches. You want to talk about a Red fish these have been some bull Red fish. We have also had a lot of luck with some other schools of fish that have been in the slot. This means the fish were 18-27 most being at the top of this limit 25-27 inches. All have been fun and a good time on the light tackle.

Then

we have the Snook fishing. Like I have been telling you we are starting to see some bigger fish. Let that water temp drop about 5 more degrees and you will really see some bigger fish.
Not that over the past few weeks we haven’t had a lot of nice fish because we sure have. We have even had a few fish that were too big to keep. This is a really good problem. I will take fish oversize any time they like to get their picture taken. The Snook numbers haven’t let off much at all we have still had some great numbers. To say no more the Snook bite is and will stay good till the winter. The next few months will be a lot of fun. I will finish this off with the fish of the week the great

Tarpon. Numbers, size, well all I can say is this fish is on. Every trip out the past week we have managed to boat and hook a bunch of Tarpon. It doesn’t get much better then this for the Tarpon. I can talk about one trip in particular. It was this gentleman and his son’s first trip out in the great Tampa bay fishing. We started the morning off with some great Tarpon fishing. We hooked 5 and finally landed the last fish, well what I thought would be the last fish. It was about a 100 lb. fish. Both father and son managed to pull this great fish into the boat. Then the young man wanted to catch a Shark really bad so I said we could give it a shot. From the Tarpon we went and fished for Mackerel for Shark bait. This was fun in it self every bait in the water had fish on and we managed to catch a mess of Mackerel. In the midst of this fishing the guy pulled his dead bait in I told him the bite was good just put it back out and see if a fish will hit it. Well a fish did it was a 50 lb Tarpon and we managed to fight this fish for a few minutes before he broke the light tackle off.
Next it was on to the Shark fishing which we managed to boat

about 7-8 Shark topping out at 4-5 feet. This was an awesome day for these guys that had never fished in the great Tampa bay. Oh! I almost forgot we did manage to get run off from the rain for about an hour and during this short time the young man managed to catch 4-5 Snook, Red fish, and a few other fish.
