We’ve had more fun days on the water! Much like last week, the fishing hasn’t changed that much, but it will soon. When the weather gets a bit cooler the fishing will change quite a bit, which I’m looking forward to. Until then I guess I will just have to keep catching all these great fish!!!

The Tarpon bite is still on! We haven’t had much luck with the big fish, but we also haven’t done a lot of fishing for them. We tried one morning last week and had a few big fish hit some baits, but I can’t say we put any big fish in the air. We did, on the other hand, have some luck with the smaller fish up in the river. We had a few different days where we hooked a bunch of fish and got a few to the boat.

We haven’t done much fishing for Red fish either. Some of my clients wanted a few fish to take home for dinner so we went on a hunt for Red fish. It was a super high tide so we started fishing around the bushes and had a lot of luck. We had to move a few times and catch a fish or two in a few different areas before we found a good bite. The fish that we did catch were great fish. They were in the slot - 23-26 inches, which if you're looking for a good fish to bring home those are nice ones.

If we just

wanted to go on a fish catching frenzy we started off with Trout or Snook because both bites have been just about as good as they can get. Trout fishing has been really good. The fish have been small, but we had a few really nice fish last week pushing the 20 inch mark. Twenty inches for a Trout is a great fish.

The Snook bite has stayed the same across the board. There are more Snook than you would ever want to

catch. We’ve managed to catch some big numbers of fish with great size just about everyday.

We’ve got something different to talk about this week…The Shark bite and Snapper bite in the bay. I would like to have better news about the Shark, but lack of fish has a lot to do with this, but we did have one afternoon fishing trip the other day that went well. About the time we got a good chum slick going and had a really good run some bad weather came through and the wind picked up to roughly 30 mph and the sea picked up two feet. We decided to run in and miss the weather, but I think we missed the best of the tide and the Shark bite when we did. When the rain let up, we decided to make the run back out to the same area. We did manage to catch one Shark about 3 feet. We fished for about one hour before we decided to come in. I think we just didn’t have enough tide flow to bring the chum out in to the bay. Before I forget…let’s talk about the Snapper bite! We have managed to catch a bunch of these fish on a few different days. If you want to talk about a good eating fish this would be it.
