Is it here!

Report Date: February 13, 2005

Well the wind still has not let up enough to get out and do any offshore fishing so all the fishing that we did this week was back in the bay. It was not really windy but there was still a big swell which made it rough offshore.

To start out it is

almost here, yes that?s right warm enough to go back to fishing with live bait. Well we did have some real good fishing this past week with the live bait. We started a few of the mornings off with Trout fishing. We had a lot of luck each morning we probably caught over 25 Trout each trip. There was a lot of nice fish and the Trout of the week was a 20 inch fish. We did catch a few of the Trout on artificial but most of them were caught on live bait.

Then we have the Snook fishing, we did manage to catch a few of these fish on live bait as well. The good thing is that they are starting to show up on the flats. We did have one Snook story about the big one that got away. We almost got him. I had the dip net in hand and we were trying to coach the gentlemen in bringing the fish in when he got the fish up to the boat and well I guess I don?t have to tell you the rest.

Then we have the Red fish, most of

these fish that we caught this week were on artificial. We caught a few of these fish each trip. It went both ways if you could get warm enough water the Red fish would eat live bait if not we caught them on jigs. The Reds fish of the week was a 27 inch fish that put up a real good fight.

As far as other types of fish we caught there was Sheepshead, Flounder, Snapper, Catfish, Dogfish and Sea Bass, a few that I didn?t know the name of and the Lady fish were in a frenzy.
