How about a Whale?

Report Date: November 1, 2004

Sorry just a little late with last weeks fishing report. The fishing was really good. and most of the week the weather was great. We have a lot of good stories to talk about..

We started this week out with a bang. We started by having some pretty good Snook

fishing and ended up boating a 38 inch Snook that almost got away in the mangroves. This fish put up one heck of a fight on the light tackle. The rest of the week the Snook fishing just kept getting better. We did not have any fish quite as big as that first day but we did manage to catch a lot of really nice Snook. The Snook have started to get a little bigger just in case you are looking for that great Snook to go home, but if not the fishing for the Snook has increased.

Then we will talk about a little Trout fishing. I said that wrong I don?t mean a little because the Trout have been going nuts.. It almost like the Trout know the day the season closes and that?s the day they go really nuts. It is some crazy fishing, you

can throw the bait in the water and you have a fish on in seconds.

Then we have the Red fish, each day that we have fished we have managed to catch a few fish. Most of the Red fish have been about the same size 18-25 inches .which are in the slot limit and if I must say they are some nice fish.

The las

t story is a pretty good one, and I have pictures to prove it.. The last day of the week we decided to go do a little offshore fishing and it was a success. We started the morning off getting a few really nice Amber Jacks about 30 miles offshore and they were some big fish. We managed to catch some Jacks that weighed about 40 lbs. But that was just the beginning. We got to the next spot and caught a few more Amber Jacks. When all a sudden a big school of Cobia move in and we caught a fe

w of them. Then yes it gets better! Two Whale Sharks came out of nowhere with some of the biggest schools of Cobia that I have ever seen following them. We managed to catch some nice fish. But I would have to say the Whale Shark was the best part of that trip.
