Pins for the Reds!

Report Date: August 30, 2004

We started this week out with a few rainy days that we did not get a chance to do any fishing. But as the week went on the weather got better, and we managed to get a couple days of fishing in.. We started the first day off with a bang and caught about 30 Red fish in a matter of one hour. It was a great

start after that we had to go find some more bait and with all the bait on most of the flats in the bay it was not too hard. Then we went and did a little Trout fishing. This was a little slow. We managed to catch a few fish then we went and caught some Snook before the weather ran us off. It was too bad because the bite and tide were just getting right . We did manage to catch one real nice Snook that was 29 inches and put up an awesome fight..

We started the next day off a little different. We started with the Snook we had some good Snook fishing. We managed to catch about 15 Snook. With these fish we had a few nice Snook we managed to catch the Snook of

the week that was a fish that was just a little bit over 30 inches. This fish almost won the battle by getting up in the mangroves but the gentlemen in the picture did a great job! But that was just the start then we went and found a great school of Red fish that we managed to pull at least 25 fish probably more. I know this much we had a Red fish for just about every pin fish that we had in the live well. They would hit the shiners but would miss most of the time however if you threw a pin fish in the water you could count to 3 and you would have a fish on the line . It was great and a little different.

Well Snook season is opening this week so if you are ready to catch that big Snook the next couple of months is the time to go. The Tarpon have not left yet . We are going to be able to do a little Tarpon fishing this week so I will let you know how it goes.
