Big Fish In The Bay!

Report Date: June 28, 2014

Big fish have been on the end of our lines in both Tampa Bay and Boca Grande.

We have caught some great goliath grouper in Boca Grande over the past few weeks, which made up for the tough tarpon fishing. The sharks were aplenty in the Boca Grande Pass, making it quite a challenge to land a fish.

We are back in Tampa Bay now and the bite has been pretty good. We have even had days where we’ve had more than one rod at a time bent by a tarpon. The tarpon in Tampa Bay aren’t quite as much of a challenge to land as the tarpon in Boca Grande, but they haven’t been exactly easy. More and more tarpon are migrating from the south to Tampa Bay, making for some great fishing.

The snook, redfish, trout, and snapper bite has been good. The redfish bite has been a little on and off primarily due to tides. On the other hand, the snapper and snook bite have been phenomenal. One of the great things about fishing Tampa Bay is that we can catch tarpon, snook, redfish, trout, and snapper all in the same day.
