Tampa Bay fishing- with a mild winter!

Report Date: January 11, 2012

The Tampa Bay area has had a pretty mild winter so far! Our winter temperatures have really been more like spring temperatures. We haven’t endured any real cold temperatures until this week. On some of the colder mornings we’ve had to fish with shrimp, but before the day is up, we switched our bait to shiners.

Mostly, we’ve been catching snook, redfish, trout, and flounder. With shrimp as bait, we’ve also been catching snapper and sheapshead. As the weather continues to change, fishing will change. Until then, let’s keep this great catching going. Please visit www.castawaychartersinc.com and book your 2012 charters today!
