Another Day On Tampa Bay!

Report Date: April 29, 2009

The tarpon are here! They aren’t exactly biting the prop off the boat, but they are definitely here. The water has been a bit rough to do a lot of tarpon fishing, but the trips we have done were successful. We managed to jump a fish or two on each tarpon trip last week. One of the fish we jumped was a 150 pounder. Tarpon fishing should really improve over the next couple of weeks as the water temperature rises. Once the water temperature increases, more fish will show up.

Take a look at the pictures. As you can see, we had some great days of fishing recently. We fished Hooked On Education Fishing Tournament a snook, redfish, and trout tournament last week and did great.

Each one of my client’s had slams and one of them also had the biggest redfish in the tournament. We sure did have a lot of fun catching some great fish. The water temperature should increase over the next few weeks, causing the fish to do a lot of moving around. With the fish moving around, it is important to spend a lot of time on the water.

King fish are

starting to show up 3 miles to 7 miles offshore. With all the west wind we have had lately, they will be on the beaches in a matter of days. Also, it is getting to be the time of year where the sharks move into the Bay. Many sharks have been showing up on the flats, which mean that they should start biting well in the Bay.

Wow! That is about al I have to say about this trout. The picture will do the rest over 30 inches.
