No wind going to stop us!

Report Date: November 6, 2007

This week the wind didn’t let up much, if any thing you could say it might have picked up a little. But like always it didn’t keep us at the dock. Some of my best days of fishing come on days where the wind wants to blow you off the water. There is always somewhere you can find some fish that want to bite out of the wind. Then there are other days where the wind might make the bite better. We will say there were a few days where it helped the bite or didn’t bother it at all. One of the good things about a windy day is the fact that you don’t have as many people on the water. This time of the year if you’re scared of a little wind it going to be hard to find a day to go fishing.

The Snook bite

well I can’t tell you that we had a 39 inch fish this week but we did have some nice fish. The Snook of the week was a fish that was around 30 inches which is a really nice fish. We have been catching a number of fish that have been just a little short meaning just a ½ inch but this is a really good thing for the future. A 28 inch Snook is a big fish, I can’t see them bringing the limit up any more but I can say that it ‘s helping the number of fish we are seeing.

Then

it comes to the Red fish bite wow! Didn’t think we would be able to outdo a 38 inch Red fish like last week, but we did. We caught a Red fish that was 41 inches. This is just 1 inch short of the biggest Red fish that I have ever caught. What a Red fish man it put up a great fight. The gentlemen hooked this fish and he thought he would never get it in, the other guys pulled in a fish or two each before he landed this big fish. Man can’t wait to see how big the fish are next week maybe we will better it yet. With this big Red fish we have been able to catch a number of smaller fish I say smaller but most of the other fish we have been catching have been over 30 inches which is a really nice fish. We have managed to catch some nice keeper fish mixed in with them too. Most of the keeper fish have been upper slot fish 26-27 inches pushing 7-9 lbs this is a great Red fish.

Tarpon

are still here, man can’t even tell you how good the bite was the other day you wouldn’t believe me. Put it this way the bite got so good that we just started jumping fish for fun. As soon as we would hook them we would let them jump off. When we were supposed to bow the rod to them we would pull on them with this most of the fish got off. We had a lot of fun as long as the water temp stays up the next couple of weeks it should be just as good.
