Shrimp work!

Report Date: December 19, 2006

Here we are with another week of warm weather in just about the middle of the winter. But I’m not going to complain because I do not like the cold too much. But I can say for the most part it hasn’t hurt the fishing too much at all. The biggest thing this time of year is spending a lot of time on the water the more you are out there the more you know. The fish do a lot of moving around so from day to day they will be doing something different.

I will start this week off with the Snook, we had a lot of nice fish Most of the great Snook that we have been catching have been way up in the river. Some of these fish we have been catching on lures and others on live shrimp or if it gets warm enough maybe shiners. I can say this time of year is like no other.

The Great Sheepshead they are some of the best eating fish in the water you have to work for a little bite to get these great fish to bite. We had some nice Sheepshead over the past weeks they are sometimes hard to catch Most of these fish that we have been catching have been around structure. Some of the fishing has been off the beaches and other days just around some of the docks in the river.

Here we go with the Red fish most of these fish we have been catching on shrimp.

Like the other fish if it gets warm enough we can catch some on live bait. We did manage to catch some great oversize fish and all in a short amount of time. We had some Red fish that were pushing mid 30 inch range as you can see in the picture these are some great fish.
