Thats how it is!

Report Date: November 30, 2006

Here we are with another couple of weeks of weather changing up and down with the water temp. If I was a fish I don’t think I would know how to act. We have had some great days fishing. Of course any day on the water is better then a day on the land well at least that is how I feel. I think in my next life I want to come back as a great big fish. One that no one can catch though. Well to get

back to it the fish have had its days where you have to do some looking and a little more work to find the fish but we have been having that luck.

With the change in the weather the fish do a lot of moving around. One of the biggest reasons is when the water temp goes down a lot of the fish start moving to their winter home then when it starts to warm back up they stop go back a little and get a little confused which is understandable. But a lot of the time when you catch them in this moving pattern you can do really well. Most of this fishing is done with live bait but if the water temp drops too much don’t be scared to go to shrimp. We did a lot of fishing last week with the great shrimp the biggest Red

fish of the week was caught on a shrimp, it was 36 inches a big fish one of the biggest of the year! With the cooler water the fish start slowing down and they won’t chase the live shiner but you can get them to eat the shrimp.

Then once the water temp drops even more over the next couple of months we will start using a lot more lures. Most of the time we use a lot of the jigs, soft baits, something that looks a lot like shrimp. During the colder months this works really good. A lot of the time you are fishing the shallow bays that surround the rivers. This is were we have most of our luck with the big fish. This at times can be a little more work well that is for the angler it’s easier for me because I don’t have to catch the bait. But with the jigs you are doing a lot of casting and retrieving but once you get it mastered you can have a lot of fun with it and you can try to out fish me. That should be a bet if you can out fish me with the jig you can go for half off. Let’s see how many people that we can get interested. Just let me know that you read this on my report and I will see what we can work out.

This time of the year when it gets a

lot colder you will start having a lot of luck with the shrimp A lot of this fishing is done around structures like docks, bridges, rocks and a different thing that you can find in the water is that you have good moving tides. This fishing can be a lot of fun, hard, and flustering all in one because you know those big fish know how to get off that is how they got to be that big after all.

Well hope to see you soon and don’t forget the bet if you think you can do it.[ ps I might have lot of discounted trips over the next month.]
