A light Fight!

Report Date: June 21, 2006

Let me see we started this week with a bang! All though the weather was not the best to begin with we got a few days in before the storm and a
few days after. Hopefully everyone made it through the storm all right
it just the begging of the season. The good news is the weather did not
hurt things to bad on my end. They did change around a little but that
is no surprise.

Will start this with the bang and that was boating a Tarpon in just
minutes. The Tarpon are still here and biting good. The begging of the
week we got out fishing about 6 am a little early but well wreath it. We
got out there caught bait in about 5 minutes and about a minute later
we had the first Tarpon of the day on. We managed to boat this fish in
about 8-9 minutes but in took about another 30 minutes to get him in the
boat for a picture. As you can see in the picture this guy is a little
tired form reeling this great fish in! There was a lot of Tarpon
rolling and showing but the gentleman was a little to tried to reel in
another one. He said he had enough Tarpon for one day.

Then we’ve got the Snook fishing this was some great fishing as
well. A little harder to see all of the fish but they were still biting.

All that rain that we got made the water a little darker in color. A lot
of the fish moved around but not to far form were they had been. We had
some great fish this past week but there one that sticks out an
that’s a fish that was 35 inches one of the biggest we have had in the past weeks. We had some great day with big numbers of fish.

Red fish well this week was a little bit better then the past. This
fishing should get really good in the next couple of weeks with all of
the rain. A lot of rain usually pushes some of the Red fish that are up
in the river out and the water color will be a little darker so they
won’t be able to see us as good. Now one of the other biggest thing that we
need so that the Red fish bite will pick up is some warmer water.

Usually some of our best Red fishing has been on those really hot summer
days when it is hard to stand all the heat. When you are catching fish it
is well worth it. We had some fish that were pushing 30 plus inches.

One of the other great stories was the great cobia that we had in the middle of the week. This was a fish that was pushing about 30 lbs. We were fishing for the Tarpon When this great fish swam by and gave us a awesome fight. I can say this fish was probably batter eating then the Tarpon would have been any ways.
