Almost!

Report Date: April 27, 2005

Here we go, can you say almost? What a week! Is this weather ever going to figure out what it wants to do? I know that we have definitely had our share of wind. But this has not kept us from getting out fishing, it?s just been a little rough . I should not complain too much, we had a couple of rough days but we had some really nice ones as well.

Well let?s start with the ?almost?

story since I brought it up first. The ?almost? story is about the great Silver King. It was probably a 150 lb Tarpon that we fought for just a little over one hour before he managed to get away. So far this is the closest Tarpon that we have had to the boat with a number of fish hooked this season. If this weather would just warm up a little more I think that we will have some more fish show up and it will be Tarpon time.

If it is Red fish that you are interested in catching, we have had a lot of luck catching them. It seems like the bite changes every day. One day you will catch them

on a shallow flat and the next they will move a little deeper. But just about every day we have managed to get on a good Red fish bite. Most of the Reds that we caught this week were between 18-27 inches. The Red fish of the week was a 27 ? inch fish.

Then it comes to the Snook fishing and this has been just as good as the Red fish. Most of the days that we have fished if we were catching Snook there were Red fish mixed in. Sometimes you will catch more Snook and then sometimes the Red fish bite is

better. But we did have some really great Snook fishing. Most of the trips we managed to get these fish into a good frenzy through out the day. Some days it?s better first thing in the morning then depending on the tides and the weather we will have good fishing in the afternoon. The Snook of the week was a 28 inch Snook.

If it?s a frenzy of fish that you want and to catch a fish on almost every bait you should do some Trout fishing. They have been going nuts. We have days where just about every bait that hits the water you catch a fish mostly Trout. With the Trout we have been catching Mackerel, Jacks, Cat fish, Snake

fish, Blue fish, Flounder, and a few others.

If you are looking for a good fight we can go do some Jack fishing. These fish pound for pound are one of the hardest fighting fish there are . With them we have had some Poor Mans Tarpon or Lady fish. These fish can be fun to catch, they fight really good as well and jump a lot.
